NEF Tubs and Reservoirs

NEF's tubs are the food-grade reservoirs and mixing containers behind a lot of the plumbing-and-fittings setups on this site, solid tubs in 23L and 45L, a grated 45L version for drainage and root zone aeration in flood and drain setups, plus a lid and a humidity crib that fit across the 23L, 45L and 65L sizes. They're built as a modular system rather than standalone containers, the lid, the grated insert, and the humidity crib are all designed to fit the same base tub sizes interchangeably.

The grated tub is specifically for flood and drain applications, the grating lets nutrient solution drain back out after a flood cycle while still supporting root mass and growing medium above it, which a solid tub can't do on its own.

What's the difference between the solid and grated NEF tub?
The solid tub holds water as a standard reservoir. The grated version has a perforated insert that allows drainage, used specifically in flood and drain (ebb and flow) systems where water needs to flow back out after flooding.

Will the NEF lid fit any 45L tub, or just the NEF one?
The NEF lid is sized specifically for the NEF 23L, 45L and 65L tub range, fit isn't guaranteed with tubs from other brands even at the same nominal volume.
