Can I reuse clay balls between grows?
Yes. Clay balls (LECA) can be cleaned and reused multiple times. Rinse thoroughly, soak in a diluted hydrogen peroxide solution, rinse again, and pH-adjust before reuse. They are one of the most cost-effective media choices across multiple cycles.

Do I need to buffer coco coir before using it?
Yes, if it is not pre-buffered. Unbuffered coco coir will lock out calcium and magnesium from your nutrient solution. The UGRO and UBER coco products we stock are pre-buffered and ready to use straight from the bag.

What is the difference between perlite and vermiculite?
Perlite improves drainage and aeration. Vermiculite retains moisture and holds nutrients. Most hydroponic growers use perlite rather than vermiculite, since excess moisture retention works against root oxygenation in most systems.
