Bluelab PeriPods M3, M4 & L3, Peristaltic Dosing Pumps

A PeriPod doses pH adjuster and nutrient stock solutions into your reservoir so you stop doing it by hand. It responds to electrical triggers from a Bluelab Pro Controller, which is the part that measures pH and EC and decides when a dose is needed.

You need both. A PeriPod on its own has no probes and no way of knowing what your reservoir is doing. If you don't already run a Pro Controller, budget for one alongside this.

The pumps are medical grade and can be calibrated to the viscosity of whatever you're dosing, which is what keeps flow rates consistent between a thin pH down and a thick nutrient concentrate. Pumps, cassettes and tubing are all replaceable, so the unit is serviceable rather than disposable.

  • PeriPod M3, $1,564.95. Three pumps. Pump 1 is set to pH by default and the other two to nutrient, though any pump can be reassigned. Suits a two-part nutrient plus pH correction.

Chaining PeriPods

Up to three units of the same series link together, giving you a maximum of 12 pumps for a complex multi-part programme.

M and L series cannot be mixed. An M3 and an M4 chain together fine. An L3 only chains to other L3s. Worth getting right before you order, because it decides what you can add later.

How It Works

  • The Pro Controller measures your reservoir. Its probes read pH and EC continuously against the setpoints you've configured.
  • It sends a dosing trigger to the PeriPod. An electrical signal, not a measurement. The PeriPod does no sensing of its own.
  • The pump runs for a calculated time. Rollers compress the tubing and push solution through, with volume set by run time against the calibrated flow rate.
  • Solution enters the reservoir. Inlet tubes sit in your stock bottles, outlet tubes in the tank.
  • The controller re-reads and stops when in range. Dosing continues in increments rather than one large correction.

Do I need a Bluelab Pro Controller as well?

Yes. The PeriPod is a pump and nothing more. It has no probes and can't measure your reservoir. The Pro Controller does the measuring and sends the dosing trigger, and it's sold separately. Buying a PeriPod on its own leaves you with a pump that has nothing telling it when to run.

What's the difference between M3, M4 and L3?

What nutrients can I run through it?

Most liquid mineral, chelated and organic formulas. Pumps calibrate to the viscosity of what they're dosing, so thick concentrates are handled. Avoid pure oils and heavy organic teas with solids in them, and flush the lines with clean water when changing products.

Can I mount it above the reservoir?

The unit can sit lower than the injection point, so mounting height is flexible. It's wall-mounted and fan-cooled. It isn't designed to be plumbed inline.
